Design Brief: To design a poster that includes a design I like, and a quote that is relevant to it.
I chose a poster by Vincent Schunk called Third Eye, based on the song Third Eye by Tool. It is a typography based poster, and is also slightly grungy. The quote is "The visual image is a kind of tripwire for the emotions" by the author Diane Ackerman, and I think that is really mirrors the text in the image ("A child's rhyme stuck in my head, it said that life is but a dream).
Vincent Schunk is a graphic and web designer from New York. His graphic design work is usually very grungy and based around typography, and it simplistic too just like his web design work.
His website is located at: http://www.vincentschunk.com
Various designs of his are featured on his Portfolio page - graphic and web designs.

History of Graphic Design
Brief: To produce interactive Flash animations displaying significant moments from the history of Graphic Design.
I chose two important periods in the development of Graphic Design. I chose the 19th Century (Art Nouveau) and Modern Digital Art. For both periods I created a background based on what a designer's desk might look like at that time - e.g. with pens and a laptop for the Digital Art. Also I wrote a small introduction to what happened in each period and what was used.
I also inserted some pictures of designs from the period, and when they are clicked a larger version of the image displays and information about it is shown.
